Foundations of Comedy is a 6-week course that takes you from your first idea to your first live stand-up performance. You’ll learn joke structure, how to write and test material, and how to perform with confidence—culminating in a filmed showcase at a professional comedy club.

About the event

In this 5-week course, students will learn the fundamentals of stand-up comedy, from developing a unique on-stage persona to transforming personal stories into polished routines. Through guided writing exercises, performance techniques, and group feedback, students will build confidence, sharpen their comedic voice, and take the stage in a graduation showcase that friends and families can attend on Sunday, March 8. Perfect for aspiring comedians, performers, or anyone looking to improve public speaking with humor.


Instructor: Mike Koutrobis

Mike Koutrobis has been entertaining audiences as a stand-up comedian for over twenty years, performing on stages across the country, including the Borgata in Atlantic City, Dangerfield’s & Gotham in NYC, Foxwoods & Mohegan, and even overseas for the U.S. troops. Most recently, Mike released his comedy special, Live From Nashua, on YouTube, delivering his signature high-energy storytelling and sharp wit to audiences everywhere.
